Cycling is the ideal way to get around: it’s eco-friendly, healthy, fast, convenient, and inexpensive. Not only does it produce less CO₂, but it also helps reduce stress. For longer distances, cycling can be easily combined with public transportation.

Bicycle network

Thanks to its diverse landscape, the region—and by extension the town—is ideal for cycling. Mountain bike trails and road cycling routes are available throughout the region, winding through dense, unspoiled forests and offering trails suitable for all mountain bikers.

There are also national bike paths, perfect for visitors looking for a leisurely ride or for locals wanting to get around safely and comfortably. These routes are mostly flat and family-friendly, allowing you to explore the region’s beauty while traveling to neighboring towns.

Even within the town, it’s easy to get around by bike—whether as a daily mode of transportation (to school, town hall, or the cultural center) or for local recreational activities. Bicycles, mountain bikes, and children’s bikes are available for rent at
several locations in the region, including in the neighboring town of Mamer.

The municipality is currently expanding its cycling network, in part in collaboration with the government. For example, a new PC9 route connecting Dippach, Dahlem, and Mamer is in the planning stages, and within the municipality, the future Dahlem–Garnich pedestrian and cycling path is taking shape.

Bicycle infrastructure

To be able to use bicycles as a means of daily transportation, it is also necessary to have sufficient, safe, and convenient parking facilities. The municipality has therefore installed bike racks at numerous points of interest.
