CANCELED: IMPLEMENTATION OF MEASURES TO REDUCE WATER CONSUMPTION
July 10, 2026
The Syndicat des Eaux du Sud has informed us that, as a result of rising temperatures, water consumption has increased significantly in recent weeks, and the threshold for triggering “Phase Orange”—set for the SES at a total drinking water consumption of 63,000 m³/day—was exceeded on July 7, 2026.
In order to ensure a sufficient supply of drinking water to meet the population’s basic needs, water use restrictions are taking effect immediately.
The following prohibitions are therefore in effect:
vehicle washing (excluding commercial car washes);
washing sidewalks, garages, driveways, and building facades;
filling and changing the water in private pools and above-ground pools;
the use of high-pressure washers;
the operation of fountains that do not operate in a closed-loop system;
cooling food or beverages under running water;
watering lawns, parks, cemeteries, and sports fields, with the exception of newly planted areas.
This does not apply to companies that specialize in any of the aforementioned activities.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
